I was a little impatient and finished this one in a hurry. I wouldn't even necessarily consider it finished. I might do a background for this one as well. The image is of Belle from Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Mucha style. I am thinking about starting an X-files drawing.

It's certainly been a while.

Below is a drawing I did recently of Princess Aurora from Disney's Sleeping Beauty. I wanted to do a background and I still may do so, but I am a little tired of all the Photoshop coloring at this point. The drawing is supposed to be Mucha style, thus I wanted to include an elaborate background.

I discovered some interesting attire in the Disney Couture line a while back and as a result I have had a little inspiration to do something similar. Disney Couture is higher-than-average priced Disney-themed clothing, such as Mickey Rhinestone Ears by Madeline Beth priced at $1200 or a Tinker Bell Mesh Chemise priced at $44.95. Rather than sketching Disney clothing itself, I decided to put Disney characters in fashionable clothing, which may or may not be Disney-themed. This is my overall attempt to do something Disney, but also try something new.

I went to Disneyland this weekend. It was fabulous, as usual. I got pictures with Mickey, Pluto, and my fav, Goofy. I bought some Christmas ornaments and way too many pins. At least my place will have the aura of a very Merry Disney Christmas this year.

I had some extra time yesterday (Halloween), which gave me the time to draw. I finished the color just a few minutes ago. After this drawing experience I have come to the conclusion that I have to be very picky when it comes to drawing with gel pens.

I decided to take a bit of an extended break from the iDisney Collection. I think I may be going back to it soon. In the meantime, I experimented with a new idea of chibi Disney drawings. They didn't come out quite how I had hoped, but I think I may work with it in the future. There is some variation among the technique of the drawings, because I was improving as I created more.

I still really want to finish my degree at Cal Poly. They have a good art program (especially compared to Fresno State) and, well, I do not like Fresno State. I just have to worry about how the hell I am gonna afford living at the coast. It is so damn expensive over there, but I think Cal Poly would be worth it.

So I went to this local comic book/collectables shop yesterday at Manchester Mall and I came across a couple of boxes of HP cards for sale. I bought one of the boxes, hoping I would get a good authentic costume card and I got a rather good result. Yesterday, I was feeling quite lucky. The comic book store guy was rather bummed that they didn't open up my box and get the card they could sell for a lot.

I went to Los Angeles this weekend to visit family and friends and it was fabulous, as usual. I miss it.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good site that provides free webspace and a decent domain name or at least has it at a price equivalent to an annual LJ account fee. I want enough webspace to provide for all my iDisney icons, etc., but I don't want to get stuck with a really long Geocities domain name. I would really appreciate some input.

This is my first iDisney post that includes live action characters. I am not sure if I like Captain Jack very much, so I might do another one in the near future to make up for it.

I managed to scan these and edit them all in one night! I am not sure if I picked some of the colors right. I might make some revisions later.

I think I might branch out from Disney a bit and do some other well-known characters, although Disney is still number one in my heart. I have also been giving a lot of thought to the Pirates of the Caribbean icons that I want to do and I think I might start those soon.

I got the new 80GB iPod and I am so excited! It is currently being withheld by Fed-Ex, but I will receive it tomorrow. Translation: I now feel more authentic when I create these icons and I also probably will not be doing any icons tomorrow because I will be loading music onto my iPod.

I did some Disney prince icons because of a few requests.

I did these icons over the span of the past few days. I am thinking about doing some animated iDisney icons, but I am not sure, because I know it will be a decent amount of work. These are the rest of my classic Disney and Lilo and Stitch icons. I threw in an Ursula because I had extra room left on a page in my sketch book when I went to scan these.

I don't really have much to say except I wish I had a comfortable bed to rest in right now.

I spent a lot of time this evening doing new sketches, thus there are only four icons posted today. I am surprised I got this many out!

I wanted to get back to the roots of Disney and pay tribute to Walt himself and his innovative ideas. Here are some of the classic characters. I have a few more of these and some others from more recent movies (within the past 20 years) that I will do soon as well.

I just about completed all of the sketches that I have done thus far. I will have to start some new sketches soon and I am not sure when I will post more. I would anticipate two days at the latest. I tried working on Robin Hood, but I did not like what I sketched.

I developed a techinque that works a little better and I can make the icons quicker. My back problems are starting to get worse because I am hunching over a laptop for prolonged periods of time. Hopefully I can afford to buy a compact-looking desktop computer sometime soon to make this a lot easier on myself, but I shouldn't hold my breath. I did these this weekend and I have a lot more sketches that need to be finished.

When I got home from work, I took some of what I already scanned into my computer and finished them. I will start new sketches either later this evening or tomorrow.

It is nice to have something I am really into again. Most stuff I have been drawing lately just seems so boring, although I am still working on the comic idea. It is just on the back-burner since I am having trouble with the story.

I finally finished some test run icons for my new project. I still have a long way to go. The first icon was a very early test run. I updated the Screentone Hermione so that the image is reduced in size and there is less static on the lower portion of the drawing. It can be viewed in the previous journal entry. I bought a book at Borders today to help me brush up on web page design. I would like to make my own site sometime in the near future. I also started going through my new Vogue issue for some new inspiration and material. It is a huge issue and I have a lot to work with, making me very excited.

I am thinking about doing a Pirates of the Caribbean drawing involving some Ralph Lauren nautical-like wear from a couple of seasons ago. I might also do a Pirates drawing in Belle Epoc style.

I am not really as shallow as I sound, but I am just looking for some new inspiration and I think it is working for me.
